UpgRade
Humanist sans serifs ruled the roost in the second half of the 20th century. I’ve always been nervous to visit such well-trodden ground but I think every typeface designer has to go there in the end.
UpgRade is a highly legible, humanist text and display font, I’ve gone for absolute minimalism and clean lines. Although undeniably inspired by classic humanist fonts such as Akzidenz and Helvetica, UpgRade is designed for maximum legibility at small sizes with details such as the two-storey a, modern g and a tail on the l. UpgRade provides a refreshing alternative to some of the more obvious sans serifs.
It’s available in a family of five weights. It includes old style non-aligning (lower case) numbers, as well as accented characters for Central European languages.
