Klamp 205
Klamp 205 is a streamlined, geometric sans-serif. The inspiration came from the German stalwart, Din. Din has been around for about 100 years now but still looks fresh, something to do with its classic simplicity.
For Klamp 205, I started with the lozenge shaped o and let that form the foundation for the design. Although Klamp looks clean and elegant as a display font, primarily I want it to be a hard-working text font, so have prioritised legibility – note the flick on the lower case l for example, which avoids any confusion with a capital I or a numeral 1. Also practical for a text font, it is narrow enough to be economical with space.
For Klamp 205, I’ve opted for a more traditional, double storey lower case a and g. However, I’ve also created Klamp 105 with stylistic variations here and there, most notably a single storey lower case a and g.
Both variations also include proportional, lower case numerals.
