About the font Kessel 105 Text

Kessel 105 Text is closely related to Kessel 105. Visually very similar but with different proportions, in order to make it more economical with space, so well-suited to continuous text.

Where Kessel 105 has a large relative x-height and short ascenders and descenders, Kessel 105 Text has more traditional proportions, so a shallower relative x-height and longer ascenders and descenders.

Although still geometric in appearance and with a very round looking lower case, the shallower x-height means that when applied to upper and lower case text, Kessel 105 Text requires significantly less width and so uses less space; often a consideration when considering how many pages a document will run to, using a given typeface.

It combines well with Kessel 105 serving as a display font, or with its slab-serif cousin, Kettering 105/205.
